Quick Update

I haven't forgotten to post, just working on several projects at once and really want to wait and post my pictures in groups. I am so excited about all of the new contacts/customers we've received over the past several days. Thank you to everyone who has referred Turkey Tales to a friend! My count will be something like 20+ by the weekend!

Oh, and if you're ever cooking ramen noodles, be sure to remember to add the water!! If not, (someone told me) the noodles will turn black, start smoking and smell up the whole office for the rest of the day! OOPS!!!

Busy Busy!

Mary Katherine hit the sack a little after 9pm, and my second wind kicked in. Please forgive the poor picture quality (maybe I'll get a new camera for my anniversary which is only SIX days away!).

I love this layette/bib/burp cloth for baby Owen!

And how cute is this shirt for Camryn! Go Squadron!!

The school shirts/baby gifts have a ZILLION options! Mary Katherine will be sporting her CCA shirt on Friday. Go Cougars - big win last night!!

Much Needed R&R

We had an awesome beach trip over the weekend and enjoyed some much needed R&R. Mary Katherine of course enjoyed the beach, sand, and pool - but I think the funniest was our attempt to go 'crabbing' Friday night. We hit the beach with our net and flashlights but didn't have much luck. We'd split up in hopes of increasing our odds when I heard Ty say he'd found one. MK & I rushed over to see him chasing this tiny crab back and forth across the boardwalk! Let's just say two girls aren't the best backup as we went squealing in the other direction.

As you can see the beaches were beautiful! NO OIL in Perdido Key!!!

As with all things, vacation came to an end and we're back to the grind. A few projects since our last post...

My final baby gift will be finished ASAP - pending the arrival of a layette gown. Funny how quickly you forget how tiny new babies are :)

Monogram/Applique Anonymous: A 12 Step Program

They say the first step is ADMITTING that you have problem. "Hello, my name is Jessica and I am addicted to creating custom monogram/applique products." There, I said it! Just so you know, I do have my priorities in line...I love God and my wonderful family first and foremost. But I do love me some monogram/applique :)

We are taking a family beach trip this weekend (Yay!) - so off we go to Target in search of a swimsuit to match the towel to match the swimsuit cover up. I found a cute pink/black polka dot swimsuit, white cover up, & a pink stripe towel. This isn't the actual towel, but very similar. The towel we purchased had dark and light pink stripes which coordinates more closely with the swimsuit.

So tonight's project (in addition to finishing 3 burp cloths and packing for our trip) is to creatively personalize this trio for Mary Katherine. Here are a few of our options (remember fabric color/patterns can be changed)...

I've got to do a little fabric brainstorming to coordinate the blacks/pinks into cute designs, but it can be done! Any suggestions from my fellow bloggers? I'll be sure to post pictures of the finished product.

Our Latest Creations

As I mentioned in the previous post, Turkey Tales has been busy with back to school projects among other things. How cute are these lunch bags, ...

... A backpack for Sarah,

And two cute jumpers for Miss Kinley

Since we've all been wiping the sweat and cursing this South Alabama humidity, I couldn't resist this snowman shirt. This shirt will be great for the entire Christmas/Winter season. Sample, size 24m, is available for sale. Contact Turkey Tales if interested in purchasing the sample, or your very own customized snowman.

I finally crashed last night and entered a coma state of sleep, so didn't quite finish my baby gift(s). Check back soon to see the finished products - 2 baby boy gifts and 2 baby girl gifts!

Whew!

What a busy week! Backpacks, lunch bags, shirts, jumpers, and baby gifts. Since I do work full time (plus being Mama, wife, and housekeeper) I have to carefully coordinate my free time :) Tonight's projects include two baby gifts. Next on the agenda is another baby gift in addition to several items that are to be dropped off. Thank you to the Compton & Register families for being such awesome customers!!!

K-2 officially starts today. Mary Katherine moved up to the K-2 class last week, but 'school' officially began today. I just dropped off her lunch and asked how it was going. The teacher replied "Great...with a little prodding" and also included that she'd been talking a mile a minute. So, she talks a lot and has to be reminded to do things; sounds like she's going to take after her DADDY!!!

In the hustle and bustle this morning I forgot my camera cord - so, pictures of our latest projects will follow ASAP. Don't forget to email Turkey Tales for questions, comments, or to place your orders.

There's Something Women Like About A Pick-Up Man!

I'm always hearing moms of boys chat about not having a lot of options for something cute yet masculine enough that Dad doesn't protest. One of four new designs purchased from Applique Cafe is a great option for the guys.

The truck is shown hauling a pumpkin which is great for the entire fall season (Halloween & Thanksgiving). Pictured here in brown cordurory, this cute - but not too cute to be manly little truck is sure to be a hit! As always, change the fabric colors if you like, add a name, or initials, etc.

On a family note: Mary Katherine didn't sleep well AT ALL last night - so you know that means Mama didn't sleep either. I think we're coming down with a summer cold (lots of sneezing, runny nose, and itchy eyes), or an allergy to something. I felt so sad leaving her at school this a.m., but I know she's in loving hands there.

Just a reminder to place your orders early! Football season, Halloween, Thanksgiving & Christmas will be here before you know it.
